all that glitters IS gold

Metallics have truly found their way into the everyday fashion world. Wherever I go, there is silver and gold. The best part about these hues, in my mind, is that they pair well with nearly everything. I have a pair of Kate Spade gold flats that take the place of black in many instances. (Also, they are already on sale!) Lucky you :) The Kate Spade store recently came to St. Louis and I love it. Namely around the holidays. Everything is so happy and bubbly and vibrant. I have my eye on this purse. Once again, what WOULDN'T this look good with?!! So practical, yet so special and pretty. A lot of items are adorned with sequins lately, like this Ella Moss dress. Love it!! As a girl who used to only wear silver, I cannot get enough of gold jewelry. I have found myself googling gold chain bracelets and coin rings as of late, such as this VSA charm necklace along with basic gold studs... these darling dogeared hearts and Daisy Knights' posts. Whatever the season, metallics are always a must. XOXO...

My dad's brother, Stanley, passed away this Tuesday. It has been a rough week for the entire family, but we find comfort in knowing he is living in God's grace eternally.

I feel bad for Thanksgiving now and again because it always gets overlooked. However, it simply is not as fun as Christmas. Presents, hellooooo!!? Haha....

I will try to keep being thankful each and every day for the abundance God has bestowed upon me.

ahhh, I am sad that summer is coming to an end but I am thrilled the weather has calmed down a bit here. Riding boots and Barbour jackets get me in the mood for fall, though!

Well friends, I am back!

met up with our friends CB and H in St. John. H has a place there and let me tell you, it is nothing short of amazing!! You should see the view! (You will, soon enough, when I put up the pics! :) )

There were ten of us and we had just the best time. If you have vacationed in St. John, you should make it a must on your to-do list !!

Alas, back to real life.

quick trip

Michigan was a great time. Mom and I ventured around Ann Arbor Friday evening, indulging in a delicious dinner at the Prickly Pear and a sweet treat afterward at Chocolate House ( as you can see, haha).

 There are a lot of artsy shops on Main Street overflowing with neat finds such as; quoted paintings, handblown jewelry, wood boxes, freshwater pearls, etc. and it was fun to pop in and out.  If you are ever in AA, you must check them out.

  Saturday morning we got to see JSC- finally! After three weeks, his camp at U of Michigan ended and we got to sit in on one of his classes with the head of the musical theatre program. It was exciting to see what he had been up to! 

What a fun little day-and-a-half trip to Michigan!

I hope everyone is having a fabuloussss Friday! Mumsy and I are off to Michigan to 'retrieve' JSC from camp! I am so so excited! He has been gone for three weeks and I miss him.

Being the dork that I am, I always plan way ahead of time (in my head) what I am going to wear on the plane. I think this all began when I was young and my parents would insist that we lay our clothes out before we went to bed at night--especiallyyy when we had an early flight-- and we were never allowed to look sloppy.

Consequently, the way I see it, why not look nice for travel? It is something that I am grateful my parents have instilled in me. Grace Kelly knows what I'm talking about... XOXO...

Baubles, baubles and more baubles.

I have seen ads for the stylish and fun jewelry line, Stella & dot. My aunt was in town this past weekend from California and she informed us that my cousin has just started repping them. Take a peek at some of their stuff...it's super cute!!

Art project

I have been thinking recently that I would like to do some kind of artsysomethingoranother. Now don't kid yourself, this isn't going to be Monet. However, I went to the art store and picked up a few things and I must say, I had quite the enjoyable time. I figured, what better a place to start than with some Lillyesque paintings? XOXO
